At 21:25 on Monday 20th the sun moves into Aries and a new astrological year begins! And the following day, Tuesday 21st March at 16:02 the moon also moves into Aries. Just over an hour later at 17:22 we have a new moon. This double Aries energy might feel like a double whammy for some of us! Especially as it is a very different energy to the Pisces energy we have just gone through.
Today (Sunday 19th) the moon is still in Pisces. Pisces moon is a gentle and dreamy place to be, it is a water sign and has feminine, intuitive energy so the moon is happy here. However of us may already be feeling a pull towards the upcoming Aries energy.
Aries is a masculine, fire and cardinal energy. The cardinal modality are the get up and go signs of the zodiac. They are the driving force and the starters of things…however sometimes struggle to finish what they start!
For those with strong Aries placements or fire energy you might be feeling ready and raring to go, but you might be having difficulty honing in on one idea. There is also an energy of irritability and impatience that can come with Aries energy. I, for example, have Mars in Aries - which is a strong place for it to be, as well as my Gemini sun which is already quite flitty, meaning at times like this I can be quite impatient and agitated and often looking to the future with some anxiety. Doing things like getting out moving, meditating and cutting back on stimulants like coffee can often help.
The new moon is a time for setting intentions and with this one being in Aries it’s a perfect time to set your gaols! It is a time of inspired ideas, but they may flow thick and fast so I it’s great to write them down and try to prioritise rather than act on all of them at once.
There may be a tendency to rush into decisions and charge forward with things, just take your time and try to ACT not REACT.

Clear Quartz is an energiser, and can help to amplify energy of other crystals. Citrine is a great energy starter, waking up the solar plexus so for those of us that have Aries energy taking us off in different directions both citrine and clear Quartz can help us to focus our energy.
Amethyst can help us calm and relax, and help with the transition from Pisces to Aries. For those of us who are more watery we may feel a bit uncomfortable with the strong energy we are moving into, amethyst can soothe this while can citrine gentle wakes up our motivation again. Blue lace agate can also help to soothe any agitation and can help us to communicate from a place of calm, rather than blurting things out without thinking (as can also be an Aries trait!).
